Imagine you are a delegate from one of the 13 colonies serving in the Second Continental Congress, 1775-1781, and you need to determine what is important for you to accomplish for your colony. Participants had no trouble answering this call when writing their essays for the American History Essay Contest sponsored by the Signal Hill Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, of Barrington. Roslyn Road Elementary School fifth grader Logan Tuchband was spot on in his essay and won first place in the chapter's contest that drew 28 participants.
